Sixteen FBLA members from St. Paul attended the State Leadership Conference in Topeka on March 27th and 28th. They were dressed in their business attire and ready to depart the high school at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday. Upon arriving at the conference, they attended the opening session. Following the opening business session, the members spent the remainder of the day taking objective tests on different business subjects and participating in team speaking events like Business Ethics and Entrepreneurship with hopes of making Nationals. Thursday evening the group went out and had a nice dinner followed by a dance at the convention center. The FBLA officers awoke early the next morning to attend the voting session at 7:30 a.m., where they elected next year’s State Officer Team. The rest of the group joined in at 8:30 for the closing business session. Afterwards, we had some downtime before the Awards Ceremony, so the group loaded up and went to the mall for lunch and shopping. After the Awards Ceremony ended at 5:30 pm., we headed for home. After a long two days away, we arrived home at about 9:00 p.m. Overall, a good time was had by all.
