The minimum requirements for graduation are

II. REGENTS QUALIFIED ADMISSIONS PRE-COLLEGE
CURRICULUM...
Under the provisions of the 1996 House Bill
Number 2668, a graduate of an accredited Kansas high school is entitled to
admission to a State Board of Regents’ Institution (Emporia State, Fort Hays
State, Kansas University, Kansas State, Pittsburgh State, Wichita State) if the
student has completed the pre-college curriculum prescribed by the State Board
of Regents (and listed herein) with a minimum grade point average of 2.0 (on a
4.0 scale). The law also specifies that
a graduate is eligible for admission if s/he has a composite ACT score of not
less than 21 or ranks in the top third of his/her high school class upon
completion of seven or eight semesters of study. This
law applies to students who graduate in 2001 or later. SEE: the chart on page 3.

Participation in band teaches the student the fundamentals of music reading,
introduces the student to a variety of music styles, encourages team work, and

and artistry. Band is a performance

limited to): pep band for home athletic events; pep rallies; concerts; league
clinic; and KSHSAA regional and state music festival. Band members are encouraged (but not

competitive festivals. Band director may

exited the instrumental music program are encouraged to resume their musical

The Choir works to learn how to read music better, learning to read “parts” and

activities and composition work plus projects of various types are also

graph ideas, and study mathematical computer programs. Algebraic addition, subtraction,

Description: The students are responsible for the creation of the
school’s yearbook & school newspaper. The student will learn the
fundamentals of yearbook design, page layout, styles
of writing, editing, and picture placement.
In addition, the student will learn the fundamentals of photography and
dark room procedures. The student is
required to attend out-of-class activities to complete photography assignments. Yearbook students also incorporate business
skills and marketing strategies used in selling the yearbook to the public.

The personal finance course introduces the student to the concepts, tools, and
applications of personal finance and investments. It focuses on helping the students understand
the process of financial planning and the logic that drives it. The principles presented in this course
become part of the students’ “financial personality” and are available to help
them deal effectively with an ever-changing financial environment. The purpose of this course is to educate the
student in the discipline of personal finance so that he/she can successfully
make and carry out a plan for their financial future.

project construction. This class is
designed for first time agricultural education students.

skills will be required. FFA and

Animal science is the study of farm animals.
This upper-level science course studies the anatomy, physiology,
